The Barossa Brauhaus Hotel is located in the centre of the Historic Village of Angaston. There are many restored Public Buildings , Wineries , Original Homesteads and little cottages . Many of these buildings are still owned by the descendants of early settlers . The town supports fine wine and the grape growing industry as well as the quarrying industry and the dried fruit and farming . Originally Gold and Copper mining was carried out in the 1840’s & 50’s.
The man largely responsible for the planning and development of the town was George Fife Angas . The area was originally called German Pass and later named Angas Town and then later again renamed Angaston . It also has been home of the famous Lindsay Park Racing Stud and at present the racing industry is represented by Goldin Farms, McEvoy Mitchell and Cornerstone .
A picturesque town situated on the low lying hills on the foothills of Mengler Hill is one not to miss.
